Album #5: This Is Fats

Album #5

Hello everybody. Hope you all had a great Labor Day holiday. Now, it’s back to work and reality and the list. I have heard of Fats Domino. I can remember as a child watching infomercials for 50’s CD compilations and hearing Fats’ songs. Blueberry Hill is one of my favorites. Fats is more well known for his singles than his albums. This album did not feature any of those hits but it did feature a great instrumental of “As Time Goes By”. The album showcases Fats’ New Orleans-based sound and captures it perfectly. Unlike most rock n’ roll singers at the time, Fats did not shout and his voice is much more calm and bluesy with a touch of New Orleans thrown in. This album was pretty good overall and I enjoyed it even though I was up early this morning because my younger siblings were getting ready for their first day of school. I give this album 3.5 out of 5.
