Album #41 – Getz/Gilberto

Album #41

This album is one of the best selling jazz albums of all time. It brought the sounds of Bossa Nova into the world of Jazz and music. The album also made Astrud Gilberto a star and one of her solo albums is on the list. But above all this album is relaxing. The vocals of Joao Gilberto are very soothing. Stan Getz’s saxophone solos are very good as well. I don’t have much to say about this album other than the songs are good, the music is relaxing and perfect elevator and background music and that this album is definately and album that I will add to my collection. The Girl From Ipanema is the stand out track from this album and launched the sound of Bossa Nova to the world.

Overall, I give this album, 5 out of 5.

Next: A Hard Day’s Night by The Beatles!!!!
