Album #129 – Caetano Veloso
This album has been called one of the first albums of the Tropicalia genre (Brazillian Avant-Garde). This album is different than Os Mutantes. Caetano Veloso’s voice is very similar to Antonio Jobim’s voice. All of the songs are in Portuguese and each song differs from the next. The albums final track, Eles, is the album’s psychedelic track. Clarice is a kind of ballad-like song. Soy loco por ti, America is very upbeat and cheery. The other tracks on this album are just as different. I thought this album was quite good but the tracks I just mentioned really caught my attention. The rest seemed to be filler. I was somewhat bored with this album and waiting for it to be over. It was good, just not that good. Overall, I give this album a 3.5 out of 5.
