Album #143 – Green River

Album #143

This album was very short and sweet. It was only twenty-eight minutes long and all of its songs were under four minutes. It contains four of CCR’s most well-known songs: Lodi, Green River, Commotion and Bad Moon Rising. This album contains straight pop songs. No jamming here. But, boy do these songs rock!!! There is also a great version of Night Time Is the Right Time which was a big hit for Ray Charles. CCR’s version is better and rocks the house. I have nothing much more to say about this album but it was great and I am becoming a bigger Creedence Clearwater Revial fan. John Fogerty and his band once again are very tight and know how to boogie and rock. The songs they made are timeless and there will never be another CCR. Sinister Purpose is the only song on this album that veers from the CCR formula. The rest is pure CCR. Contrary to what many might think, Grunge supergroup Green River did not name themselves after this album but after the nickname of a serial killer. Overall, I give this album 4.5 out of 5.

Next: Abbey Road by The Beatles!!!!
