Album #233 – Live!

Album #233

I really enjoyed this album. Fela Kuti brings so much energy to this recording. He is quite funny too. He describes each song, it’s title and what that particular song is about. That made the album interesting. I also loved the end of side one where just before Black Man’s Cry ended, Kuti told the listeners to turn the record over. The rhythms were infectious and there is certainly a large melting pot of sounds on this album. Jazz, r&b, funk, soul, rock, Afro-Cuban and African music are all mixed together to create the album’s sound. It was a very interesting listen and Ginger Baker added to the amazing factor this album has. To be honest, I thought this album would be boring. It was the opposite and this album will definately be added to my collection at some point in the future. Overall, I give this album 5 out of 5.
