Album #235 – Teenage Head

Album #235

This album was amazing. Flamin’ Groovies clearly capture the rocking Blues vibe that The Stones are famous for. One of this band’s members even said that Mick Jagger thought they did this type of music and sound better than The Stones. Most of the album sounds just like a Rolling Stones album. The lead singer sounds almost exactly like Mick Jagger. The original songs sound almost like Rolling Stones songs. It was kind of eerie listening to this album in that sense. But, there is also this energy there that The Rolling Stones did not have at the time. That energy is found (so far) in the garage rock I have listened to that is on the list. Some of these bands include: The Stooges, MC5, The Sonics and 13th Floor Elevators. The Flamin’ Groovies would help shape punk music in more ways than one. This album is a testament to that. The only problem that I had with this album is that it went by too fast!!! Other than that, it was an amazing album. Overall, I give this album 5 out of 5.
