Album #351 – Station to Station

Album #351

Station to Station is one of Bowie’s best albums. A bridge between the funk of Young Americans and the krautrock of the Berlin Trilogy, Bowie isn’t finished with his funky sounds yet. They are still present on this album. I see less krautrock and more funk and r&b on Station to Station. Each track was amazing. Even though Bowie claims to not remember any of the sessions for this album, Station to Station is hardly a distant memory. The Thin White Duke still had it. He’s left Major Tom behind and traded him in for a smooth talking jive soul man. To me, this album is a slight bridge but, it is much better than Young Americans. It has slight disco leanings but, they add to the album’s sound instead of detracting from it. I can’t say too much else about this album but, it was a great listen and I will definitely be adding Station to Station into my collection. Overall, I give Station to Station, 5 out of 5.
